Skin Peels
Chemical peels are one of the oldest cosmetic treatments performed, dating back to ancient Egyptian times when, natural acids derived from fruit and milk were applied to the skin in the name of beauty.
A medical peel involves the careful application of a chemical exfoliant to the epidermal layers of skin specifically for the removal of superficial lesions, blemishes, fine lines, reduction of large pores and acne, thus improving texture of the skin. The nature of the compound, the concentration of the chemical and the level of time in contact with the skin determines the depth of penetration and the level of peeling. This is a cost effective treatment, to improve the health and radiance of the skin. A deeper peel will address scaring, deep lines, skin laxity, pigmentation issues and more.

Skin Peel FAQ’s
How do peels work?
Peeling will promote exfoliation allowing healthier cells to the surface, improving the texture and feel of the skin. Certain peels are antibacterial and anti-inflammatory so particularly appropriate for acne-prone skin. Also suitable for back and chest. A TCA peel, depending on the concentration, penetrates through the top five layers of the epidermis to the upper most layer of the dermis and this will target deeper, more problematic skin issues such as scaring, deep lines etc.
Will Skin Peels hurt?
Superficial peels may sting, prickle or feel hot for a brief minute or two, but not painful. A Medium depth peel does feel hot and prickles (like a nettle sting) a cool fan will help you manage this, it lasts a few minutes.
What can I expect after treatment?
Superficial/ light peels you may expect to be pink, which should settle within a few hours. Your skin may become a little dry and tight and you may experience a light flaking of skin but there may not be any obvious peeling.
