Rejuvenate Your Skin with Expert Anti-Wrinkle Treatments
For over 30 years, antiwrinkle injections have been a trusted medical solution. At Coastal Skinthetics, we utilise a variety of botulinum toxin type A brands, including Botox, Azzalure, and Alluzience, to temporarily relax muscles and prevent wrinkles. When injected into targeted muscles, the toxin blocks nerve signals, allowing them to relax and soften lines, resulting in a youthful appearance.
Our nurse prescriber Tracy, specialises in softening frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet, helping to provide a rejuvenated look. At Coastal Skinthetics, we prioritise achieving a subtle, natural result that ensures significant improvement in lines while maintaining your unique features and providing a refreshed appearance.
In addition to facial rejuvenation, advanced techniques can be used to contour the neck and jawline, gently lifting down-turned lips and jowls (known as the Nefertiti lift), address a gummy smile, alleviate excessive sweating, reduce teeth grinding and migraines. Trust Coastal Skinthetics for personalised, effective treatments tailored to your aesthetic goals.

FAQ
What Is Botulinum Toxin a (Commonly Known as Botox)?
Botox is a licensed brand of Botulinum toxin type A. Other licensed brands include Azzalure, Dysport, Xeomin, Bocouture and others with no doubt follow as manufacturers create their own version.
Botulinum Toxin is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacteria Chlostridium Botulinum. In a purified form, as is the case with many drugs/medications such as Penicillin, Botulinum toxin been used safely and effectively in medical treatments for any years. Not only has it been used used in cosmetic clinics but for a number of medical conditions including migraine, excessive sweating, bladder spasm and muscle contracture.
All Botulinum toxins are prescription only medicines and can only be prescribed by doctors, dentists and nurse with the prescribing qualification and this is the law.
Will Botox Be Painful?
A very fine needle is used and generally this treatment is not painful. Ice may be of use to help to numb the skin and reduce the risk of bruising. Some patients will also ask for numbing cream and this can be used to reduce anxiety in any perceived pain.
Botox After Treatment
You are advised to keep the targeted muscles active for a few hours and avoid extremities of heat or cold, vigorous exercise, lying down or bending forward for 4 – 6 hours. It’s expected you will start to see an improvement at around 4 days. The full result can be assessed at 2 – 3 weeks when you will be invited to attend for a review. This appointment gives the opportunity to assess your treatment and make any adjustments if necessary.
Is Botox Safe?
All treatments carry a degree of risk. These will be discussed with you at consultation and prior to any treatment being agreed.
You are always provided with aftercare advice to minimise risks and promote a speedy recovery.
Botulinum toxin should only be administered by a healthcare professional with specialist training.
How Does It Work?
The toxin blocks chemical messages sent from the nerve to cause the muscle to contract. Without these messages, the muscle stays in a resting state until recovered, usually taking around 8 -12 weeks on average
The aim of the treatment is to significantly reduce the muscle movement which causes expressional lines (lines on movement). It may not cause the lines to disappear completely; this will depend on the quality of your skin and may take several treatments to produce that result.
It may not completely freeze the expression although this is rarely asked for these days. Botulinum toxin is not suitable for the lines that are always present (static lines or lines without moving muscles) however, there are other options for these lines and this can be discussed at your assessment.
What Will Botox Treat?
In cosmetic medicine, Botulinum toxin is used to treat: Frown lines, Crows feet, Forehead lines, Lip lines, Downward drop of the mouth (sad lines)
As an advanced procedure, lower face treatments are offered to reduce excessive bite, slimming down the face (Bruxism) and to improve the jawline, jowling and neck bands (also known as the ‘Nephertite lift’). Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) for underarms, hands and feet is very successful treatment.
How Long Does Botox Last?
Results tend to last approx 3 – 4 months. Movement will begin to return form 8 weeks. It is NOT recommended to have treatments less than 3 month intervals.
